We are thrilled to be presenting Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed new revival of Miss Saigon which premiered on the West End in 2014, and most recently played to critical acclaim on Broadway in 2017.

Is there a real helicopter in the show?

Yes! Well, it’s not a real helicopter. Ours is a mechanical and theatrical set piece that comes to life with light and sound effects on stage. It’s pretty impressive, and we can’t wait to show it to you!

An audio description service to enhance the experience of customers who are blind or have low vision is offered for selected performances at the Sydney Opera House. This is a live commentary of the visual elements of a performance, by trained audio describers. Audio description is relayed via a free headset and receiver linked to the FM radio system.

Wednesday 20 September 2023, 1:00 pm - Captioned Performance

This Performance of Miss Saigon will be captioned via the GoTheatrical app.

Patrons will need to download the GoTheatrical app on their Apple or Android device prior to arriving/on arrival and follow instructions provided in Opera Australia's pre show communication to find the captioning service once logged into the venue Wifi. On the day of the event please see signage and onsite staff for extra help if required.

Sunday 1 October 2023, 1:00pm - Auslan Interpreted Performance

Experienced Auslan theatre interpreters will be positioned on the right of the stage to interpret the vocal performances and dialogue into Auslan, signing live.

An allocation of seats are being held for people wishing to see the Auslan interpreted performance. To book, please call (02) 9318 8200 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and quote "Auslan" and Opera Australia customer service will ensure you're seated in the reserved stalls near the interpreters.
